Recicla Cidade: Promoting environmental awareness in Praia Grande

In January, Praia Grande hosted the Recicla Cidade (Recycle City) project, an initiative with a clear goal to encourage and expand selective waste collection in the cities along São Paulo’s coast.

Recicla Praia Grande, part of Recicla Cidade, brings with it the concept of shared responsibility. Through awareness-raising and training, this project seeks to encourage selective disposal among communities, increasing participation and the quality of recyclable materials sent to cooperatives. It is an innovative approach that uses elements of gamification to further engage people in this transformation process.

The project has already left its mark on 30 cities in the state of São Paulo, including important consortia such as Condemat and CONISUD. Now, Praia Grande has joined this transformation network, with the support and sponsorship of Valgroup, encouraging the cause.
